A Season of Giving – Points of Light Award Celebration
As the holiday season approaches, we are taking the time to give thanks for our many blessings this year and to give back to the community. Mark Tremblay, President of Marc-Michaels Interior Design, recently had the honor of attending the George H.W. Bush Points of Light Awards Celebration in Washington, D.C.
Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, connects individuals, business, and nonprofit volunteer organizations to create change in the world. In his 1989 inaugural address, founder President George H.W. Bush shared his vision of “a thousand points of light” – individuals and organizations across the nation helping others through service. Today, Points of Light transcends politics and borders to inspire millions worldwide.
Each year, the Points of Light Awards Celebration honors individuals who demonstrate the transformative power of service, and who are driving significant and sustained impact through their everyday actions and words that light the path for other points of light. Among this year’s honorees were Condoleezza Rice, the 66th Secretary of State, and Mike Love, the lead singer of The Beach Boys.

The awards celebration was hosted by Emmy Award nominated actor and producer, John Stamos, and featured performances by The Beach Boys.
“It was an incredible honor to be invited to this year’s Points of Light Award Celebration,” says Mark Tremblay. “Seeing and hearing the many ways that the organization helps shape and change lives for so many people was truly inspiring. I believe it is so important that we all do our part to better the world around us. We were proud to be in the room with so many others who all share the same heart for service.”
